FBB Passwords This application allows you to manually calculate sysop passwords required by the F6FBB BBS software. It runs on the Psion Series 3a. Copy the file PASSWORD.OPA to an \APP directory. Install to the system screen using Psion-I. * If you wish to use the password in the PocPac config file PP.CFG or PP.DBF this application will automatically find it. * If you do not have PocPac installed, and no PP.CFG or PP.DBF, this application will create a file M:\DAT\PASSWORD.FBB and use this. * If you have PocPac installed and still wish to use a separate password file, do the following: Go to DATA on the system screen Press Psion-N Enter PASSWORD.FBB and press Enter Press Psion-X to quit DATA. (This creates an empty file) * If M:\DAT\PASSWORD.FBB exists, this application will use it, it will NOT use PP.CFG or PP.DBF When you run PASSWORD, a dialog will appear with two options: Calculate Password and Enter New Table If you are using the PocPac config file, you will not be able to select the latter option. This is to prevent you unintentially changing the PocPac config file! Use PPCONF or DATA to alter this PP file. If there is no password file or PocPac file present, you will not be able to select the first option! Calculate Password. Enter the 5 numbers with a single space between each, like: 24 9 121 98 50 Press Enter, and the five letters of your password will be shown. There is a space between each character for clarity - do not type these in. Try not to use a password table with spaces in it!! Enter New Table. You can type in up to 255 characters. Hopefully there is sufficient error checking programmed in! Any comments to: Roger Muggleton G0HZK @ GB7WIR Email hzk@cix.compulink.co.uk P.S. I can easily retranslate this for the Series 3 if required. Changes ------- 14th February 1996 You should now be able to separate the numbers with commas, or any non- numeric character, if desired.
